Dragonis Games and Iphigames have announced that the game will be released on two current-generation consoles, but one has been left out.
The complete experience unfolds in The Shore, a first-person, Lovecraftian horror adventure blending exploration and puzzles in a world shaped by ancient gods and forbidden knowledge. Play as Andrew, a father searching for his missing daughter on a remote, abandoned island. As you explore its decaying ruins and twisted landscapes, reality begins to fracture. The island harbors secrets older than time, and with each step forward, you find yourself pulled deeper into a nightmare shaped by fear, loss, and obsession. Ancient gods lie hidden beneath the island, slowly changing the world above. Armed with strange artifacts and fragments of forbidden power, you must survive encounters with eldritch beings while uncovering the truth about the island and your daughter’s fate. Prepare for a descent into cosmic horror, where knowledge comes at a terrible cost.
Roam a desolate, mysterious island inspired by Lovecraftian mythos. Traverse abandoned villages, ancient temples, and otherworldly landscapes steeped in dread. Experience unsettling visuals and towering eldritch creatures that bring cosmic horror to life through haunting design. Piece together Andrew’s journey through environmental storytelling, cryptic encounters, and hidden lore revealing the island’s dark past.
Progress by solving puzzles woven into the environment that require observation, logic, and interaction with strange artifacts. Encounter terrifying beings beyond human understanding, each tied to forgotten myths and unspeakable truths. Wield the mysterious powers granted by ancient relics to survive these encounters and overcome obstacles – but beware, there is a price to pay. Atmospheric soundscapes filled with whispers, distant echoes, and unsettling silence enhance the tension and immersion throughout your journey.
“Five years ago, we released The Shore, introducing players to a world of cosmic dread. Bringing the Enhanced Edition to consoles is both a celebration of that journey and an opportunity to share this nightmare with a whole new audience. We’re grateful to everyone who has supported the game since 2021 and are excited to welcome console players to The Shore,” wrote Ares Dragonis, founder of Dragonis Games, in the press release.
The Shore has been available on PC since 2021. Enhanced Edition will be released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series sometime this year.
