CD Projekt Keeps Stacking Heavy Hitters for The Witcher 4, and Now an Expedition 33 Animator Joins the Team

CD Projekt is starting to look a lot like Thanos assembling the Infinity Stones. The studio has now recruited from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for The Witcher 4. Lucie Hennet, formerly a Cinematic Animator on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has officially joined the Polish developer’s ranks.

The Witcher 4 is still a long way off. At this point, the RPG appears to be CD Projekt RED‘s next major release, unless the rumored third expansion for The Witcher 3 gains real momentum and ends up launching sometime in 2026. What does seem certain, however, is that the Polish studio is strengthening its team with notable industry hires for its next flagship project. The latest addition is Lucie Hennet, who built a strong reputation through her work on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Rather than being announced through an official statement, the hire surfaced via Hennet’s LinkedIn profile. According to the former Sandfall Interactive employee, she started working at CD Projekt RED this February on The Witcher 4, where she is taking on the role of Cinematic Animator, the same specialization in which she developed solid experience during her time on Expedition 33.

Before moving to the Polish studio, Lucie Hennet spent nearly two years at Sandfall Interactive. She initially joined through an internship program, then remained under a fixed-term contract from November 2023, actively contributing to the development of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, although she left before the project reached completion.

This is not the only important hire CD Projekt RED has made for the The Witcher 4 team in recent years. The company has also brought in Dorian Kieken, an AI director who previously worked on Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, as well as Karel Kolmann, quest designer on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, who now serves as Senior Quest Designer on the upcoming RPG.

The Witcher 3 could look better than ever in 2026

While fans continue waiting for The Witcher 4, players themselves are still keeping The Witcher 3 alive thanks to projects such as the HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition 2026 mod. This free mod promises major visual upgrades, including more realistic wind simulation on objects, clothing, and vegetation, along with higher detail levels for characters and gear. For now, the mod has no release date, but the improvements mentioned so far represent only a small portion of what is reportedly planned.
