God of War Series Adds Four More Cast Members as the Norse Lineup Nears Completion

Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures have now locked in Modi (Louis Cunningham), Magni (Ben Chapple), Gna (Evelyn Miller), and Thrud (Island Austin) for the live-action God of War series.

More cast confirmations have landed for Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures’ live-action God of War series. Several of the most relevant figures tied to God of War (2018) and God of War: Ragnarok were already in place, the production has already shown its first image, and now the project has revealed who will play additional characters from the games. In short, the series is confirmed to have Modi (Louis Cunningham), Magni (Ben Chapple), Gna (Evelyn Miller), and Thrud (Island Austin).

Based on information shared via Variety, these actors will portray some of the remaining figures connected to the Norse pantheon, as well as the Valkyrie Queen. Modi and Magni have notable scenes in God of War as they quickly establish themselves as enemies of Kratos. Thrud plays an important role in God of War: Ragnarok, especially during Atreus’ journey through Asgard, and Gna could set up a spectacular clash with the Ghost of Sparta.

All in all, while one major confirmation is still missing – such as who will play Týr – the production already has a solid roster ready to go. Here’s the full list of announced cast members so far, including today’s additions:

  • Ryan Hurst – Kratos
  • Callum Vinson – Atreus
  • Mandy Patinkin – Odin
  • Ed Skrein – Baldur
  • Max Parker – Heimdall
  • Ólafur Darri Ólafsson – Thor
  • Teresa Palmer – Sif
  • Alastair Duncan – Mimir
  • Jeff Gulka – Sindri
  • Danny Woodburn – Brok
  • Louis Cunningham – Modi
  • Ben Chapple – Magni
  • Evelyn Miller – Gna
  • Island Austin – Thrud

The First Image Triggered a Wave of Backlash

The God of War series has been in the spotlight in recent days for more than just casting news. Last week, Amazon shared the first image of Ryan Hurst and Callum Vinson in character as Kratos and Atreus, but the shot did not meet many fans’ expectations. Hurst, who plays the Ghost of Sparta, then posted a short, cryptic message: “Don’t believe everything you see on the internet, kids.”
