Our PlayStation 3 Games Can Now Be Launched on Steam! [VIDEO]

Thanks to a new development, games released for the previous two console generations have become much more accessible.

The RPCS3 team has recently made significant progress. First, the software enabled direct loading of PlayStation 3 ISO files to run games. Now, it also makes it possible to launch them on Steam. Steam is currently the largest PC platform, and Valve’s digital platform is also particularly popular on handheld PCs. It offers hundreds of thousands of games and features an easy-to-use interface. With this in mind, the RPCS3 team rolled out a major update that provides players with even greater convenience.

Previously, you had to open RPCS3 to launch PlayStation 3 games; now, games can be launched directly from the Steam library. You can add any PS3 game directly via the Manage Game > Create Steam Shortcut menu option. This option adds your PlayStation 3 games to the library list. From now on, you can launch games directly from Steam without opening the RPCS3 user interface. This is a perfect solution for desktop computers, laptops, and handheld PCs, where players typically launch most games from Steam. RPCS3 currently launches most PlayStation 3 games without issue. According to the latest announcement, nearly 70% of PS3 titles can now be run using the emulator.

About two months ago, the RPCS3 developers extended compatibility to Windows ARM64 PCs, a significant advancement. Making the emulator available on millions of new devices will significantly increase the user base, and the ability to run PS3 games directly on Steam will further expand the program’s reach. The RPCS3 developers have announced that PS3 games will be accessible directly from Steam’s Big Picture mode, making them just as easy to launch as any native Steam game.

There are a few PS3-exclusive games, so emulation is helpful.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
