PlayStation Plus Essential: What’s Coming in April 2026?

Because of the awkward calendar setup, we once again had to wait until the first day of the month to get the official reveal of PlayStation Plus’ next monthly lineup. April’s selection ultimately brings three games to subscribers, and while Billbil-kun once again got close to the mark, this time the leak only exposed part of the picture before Sony confirmed the full list.

Billbil-kun leaked the information nearly a week before the official announcement, but this time the insider revealed only one game, even though there are usually three, so the full lineup remained unclear. What we did know in advance was that 2023’s Lords of the Fallen would be one of the titles for PlayStation 5 – and yes, we unfortunately still have to identify it by release year because the original Lords of the Fallen came out back in 2014. So was that really the case, and what were the other games?

As it turns out, Billbil-kun was right: the 2023 version of Lords of the FallenPlayStation 5 – is indeed April’s headline game. The second title is technically three games in one, although the collection in question has been in fairly rough shape lately. It is Tomb Raider I-III RemasteredPlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 – which recently received an update that seriously irritated Lara Croft fans, and Aspyr has been trying to repair the damage with more limited success than it would probably like. The third game is Sword Art Online Fractured DaydreamPlayStation 5. All three games can be added to subscribers’ libraries from April 7 through May 4.

There are still a few days left, however, to catch up on March’s PlayStation Plus Essential selection, so as usual it is worth listing the outgoing games as well. The main title was the golf release PGA Tour 2K25PlayStation 5. The second game was a larger-scale cross-gen title in the form of Monster Hunter RisePlayStation 5, PlayStation 4. The third was the expected indie-style pick, namely Slime Rancher 2PlayStation 5. The fourth title was The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold RoadPlayStation 5, PlayStation 4.

So after the Easter ham offensive, there will at least be something to help work off those extra kilos. Well, not really.
