The resurrection of Helldivers 2: The game that everyone has already buried is back

Many thought Helldivers 2 was gone for good, but they were wrong. The game is back and conquering the community again. The big update released by Arrowhead Game Studios brought the expected effect.

The past few months have been a rollercoaster ride for Helldivers 2. The game went from controversy over PlayStation Network accounts to stability, only to find itself in crisis again when its first major content update disappointed the majority of players. Many people thought that it was impossible to recover from two such major disasters, especially since such a short time had passed between them. However, Arrowhead Game Studios managed to turn things around.

Update that changed the future of Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 update 01.001.007 was the first part of an ambitious rescue plan that Arrowhead Game Studios is preparing for its flagship video game. The update contained around 150 balance tweaks and 100 bug fixes with a simple but ambitious goal: to make the game more fun. To do this, many weapons and gadgets have been increased in power to create more strategic variety and ultimately allow players to customize their experience.

Although it hasn’t been long since the update, it’s safe to say that Arrowhead’s plan was a success. With the Helldivers 2 update, the game reached its highest concurrent user peak of the summer with 68,380 concurrent sessions on Steam (based on SteamDB data). The reviews are also favorable. Considering Valve’s store, 86% of the 1,630 reviews posted since the update are positive.

Helldivers 2 players reunite

Another interesting detail about the reviews is that many users changed their Steam reviews from negative to positive. Valve doesn’t show this data, but the aforementioned SteamDB does. Helldivers 2 received 641,736 upvotes and 261,507 downvotes the day before the update. However, it currently received 647,194 positive votes (+8.5%) and “only” 257,056 votes against it (-1.8%). In this sense, the community uses this tool in a very interesting way.

It is worth reminding that the Helldivers 2 situation is not yet completely resolved. The developers have successfully put the game back on track, but they are still working on adding more updates. It is also questionable how releasing such emergency updates will affect future content. These questions are left for next year. The bottom line now is that Arrowhead Game Studios has an opportunity to make up for lost time.
