Homeworld 3: Exciting New Content Arriving Sooner Than Expected!

Blackbird Interactive has announced on Steam that the content expansion schedule for Homeworld 3 has been slightly rewritten, essentially putting the pedal to the metal.

The developers have revealed how they plan to expand Homeworld 3 after the 1.2 update, as the game has not been well received by the public: it has mostly negative reviews on Steam, with players saying it lacks core features, while the gameplay and mechanics are average at best. In response, Blackbird Interactive has decided to accelerate the release of the previously planned content!

All previously announced paid and free DLC will be released in one package in November, as the developers believe this will allow them to focus their resources and provide a better quality experience for the audience. As a result, two DLCs originally planned for 2025 have been moved up to the final month of fall, meaning that three free updates and two paid DLCs will arrive in one major update in November, completing the release of content planned for the first year.

Anyone who has purchased this Season Pass in the past will receive all of the content, including changes made as a result of public feedback. One such example is the hyperspace jump in skirmish mode, and you can also choose from campaign missions. There will also be other changes based on fan feedback to improve Homeworld 3, which started off on a very low note.

So, Blackbird Interactive is planning a major update for Homeworld 3 in November, but we have to wonder how long it will take for the DLC content to be ready if they can get it out to the public so soon? It makes you wonder what they’ve cut out of the base game to make it a paid DLC…

But we can probably be sure that if they release the big update in November, the developers will slow down a bit after that (especially if they release it at the end of November, because they’ll go on holiday early…).
