Bethesda Issues Important Warning for the Shattered Space Starfield DLC Coming Today!

Bethesda warns Starfield players not to start Shattered Space “prematurely”…

DLC for Bethesda games is notorious for not being integrated into the plot often. Few things break your gaming experience more than when you start Oblivion or Fallout 3, and in the first few minutes, you get seventeen notifications telling you about expansions and missions that you don’t intend to deal with and can’t do anything about yet. In the upcoming Starfield Shattered Space DLC, it looks like this will work a little more naturally. But there are still some things worth paying attention to.

Unlike some of Bethesda’s other games, when you start Starfield, you won’t be immediately met with pop-ups about adventuring in regions you’ve never heard of. New players to the RPG must complete the first main quest to enter the Shattered Space expansion. You will be prompted to start the DLC only after you become a full member of the Constellation and perform a gravity jump into a system unrelated to a mission or encounter. You will then receive a distress signal prompting you to go to a new space station called The Oracle.

However, if you’re doing all of this during a new playthrough, you might want to wait to start the DLC.

Bethesda says that while “any player can take on the challenge of Shattered Space,” they recommend level 35 to get the most out of the expansion. Presumably, while some will be able to make it through the DLC’s more challenging encounters, others may find it too difficult unless you already have some serious game time.

Now that Starfield Shattered Space has a release date, you may need some experience if you want to tackle it with the right difficulty. The add-on will be released on Monday, September 30 – that is, today. Check out the game’s Steam page to see if you’re up for the adventure or if you’re curious about more.
