The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II: Release Date for Western Fans! [VIDEO]

This installment of the franchise has been available in Asia for some time now, but it’s still a while before NIS America officially launches it in the West.

No longer threatened by the Almata Mafia, the people of Calvard have returned to their peaceful lives. But one day, a shocking series of murders involving a mysterious crimson beast sets the wheels of fate in motion once again. Various factions spring into action – both those who follow the law to uncover the truth, and those who seek to capitalize on any new development, no matter how sinister. With chaos once again looming on the horizon, the Spriggan Van Arkride receives an unexpected visitor, prompting his own investigation. Who is behind the murders and what is their goal?

The year 1209 of the Septian calendar. The threat of Almata has passed. Peace has finally returned to Calvard. And for a time, that peace is uninterrupted – until a CID Special Forces unit is slaughtered by an unknown assailant. As the authorities work to contain the situation, criminal forces seize the opportunity to make their own moves. Meanwhile, a spriggan named Van Arkride begins his own investigation – at the urging of an unexpected visitor. Who might be responsible for this massacre? What was their goal? And how does it all relate to Agnes’ search for the eighth Genesis? The roar of a crimson beast. A chance meeting with a boy and a girl, both involved in a mysterious quest. These are the circumstances that lead Arkride Solutions on the trail of an inescapable destiny.

The game builds on the seamless transition between field battles and command battles introduced in the previous game, with new mechanics that can be used in both: Cross Charge & EX Chains! By mastering the use of these two combo mechanics, you can unleash overwhelming firepower on your opponents. During a field battle, if you manage to perfectly dodge an enemy’s attack, the Cross Charge icon will appear! If you press the correct button while the icon is on the screen, another party member will swap in and perform a simultaneous charge attack on your enemy! As a bonus, the party member you swap in will have increased attack power for a period of time. EX Chains can be activated by meeting certain conditions during Command Battles. Once these conditions are met, using a craft or normal attack on a stunned foe will automatically activate an EX Chain! This allows party members with activated SCLM to launch a simultaneous attack that will also affect nearby enemies, dealing massive damage.

Van and his companions will not always travel together during the events of Trails through Daybreak II. At times, some of the group will split off to complete tasks in different areas of Calvard at the same time. For this reason, each act contains several chapters, which you can play in any order. Progress through the story in whatever order you choose! Each chapter features a different cast of characters as we see their side of the story unfold. Once you’ve completed your chosen chapter, the next chapter will automatically begin. Certain chapters will feature missions that utilize the unique abilities of the characters in that chapter’s party. For example, directly controlling the holocore AI, Mare, to hack the orbal network, or using Swin to silently tail a suspicious individual.

The game’s three main characters will be Van Arkride (head of Arkride Solutions), Agnes Claudel (a freshman at Aramis Academy who is also an Arkride employee), and Elaine Auclaire (with ties to Calvard), and in terms of locations, in addition to the Republic of Calvard, The Legend of Heroes will also feature a medium-sized city called Messeldam: Trails through Daybreak II, which is coming to PlayStation 5, PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 on February 14. Another game joins the February rush…
