A publisher has agreed to distribute disk copies of ArcSys (Arc System Works) in several regions.

In a press release, Microids announced that it will distribute copies of Double Dragon Revive in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and the Middle East, so that the game can be put on shelves (although it’s questionable whether they will do this for PC, for example; probably not, since it’s very rare these days to find a real disc copy of a PC port or game that doesn’t just have a Steam code).

“We are delighted to be working with Arc System Works to bring Double Dragon Revive to European gamers in physical form. This agreement represents an important step for Microids and illustrates our ambition to forge partnerships with international companies, particularly major figures in the Japanese industry, in order to expand our reach on a global scale,” said Julien Renzaho, Microids Vice President of Business Development and Sales.

According to the story, 15 years have passed since the end of the nuclear war. The survivors have established colonies in various parts of the devastated world to make a home. However, during these 15 years, the concept of nations has been lost, and the powerful people who run the colonies now control the politics and make the laws. This coastal colony is one such city, ruled by some of these powerful people: a gang called the Shadow Warriors.

Since their rise to power, the gap between rich and poor in the colony has widened. People living in the slums struggle to make ends meet, and rumors of mysterious disappearances abound. The Lee brothers, masters of the Sosetsuken, live in a corner of the city with their childhood friend Marian. The honest younger brother Billy and the free-spirited older brother Jimmy. When the Sosetsuken Dojo they inherit gets in the way of the city’s evil plans, the story begins…

Double Dragon Revive will be available sometime in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
