World of Warcraft Fans Fume Over Mount That’s Pricier Than a AAA Game

Players must pay $90 to acquire the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur mount, although its original version asked for $475

Blizzard is celebrating with World of Warcraft. The iconic MMORPG is celebrating its 20th anniversary with various activities, new dungeons to complete, and new cosmetics. However, a new controversy has now erupted over the return of a mount that costs more than a AAA game. We are talking about the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur, which sells in the in-game store for around $90.

What’s so special about this mount?

Aside from being larger than what we usually see in the MMORPG, the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur stands out because it can carry two NPCs on it; in other words, the player can travel with two extra merchants, which is very useful for buying supplies or repairing weapons anywhere. However, and as initially indicated by GamesRadar+, the community considers that the characteristics of this cosmetic do not justify the outlay of so much money.

And the most curious thing of all is that this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur in World of Warcraft. The mount already caused quite a stir six years ago when it was first introduced as the Reins of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur – a larger, slightly different styled version that also allowed for carrying two extra NPCs. The main difference here is that the cosmetic originally sold for $475. The community is aware that Blizzard has significantly lowered the price of this perk with its new $90 proposition, but it’s still outrageously expensive.

The Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur is proving to be a huge success

World of Warcraft is seeing a very common phenomenon with this new controversy: on the one hand, there are players who criticize Blizzard for the cost of the mount, on the other, many fans have already paid the money needed to get it. In fact, the user rahuonn has shared an image via Reddit in which a plaza full of Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur can be seen; an indication that, despite its price, it is becoming a very popular product.
