South Korean developer Shift Up’s game for PlayStation 5 will remain exclusive for a while longer, but will soon be coming to PC.
Shift Up plans to release a PC port of Stellar Blade in 2025. According to the company’s Q&A in its quarterly report, “Our goal is a 2025 release. Given recent trends (such as Steam’s growing presence in the AAA games market and the global success of Black Myth: Wukong), we expect the PC version to do even better than the console version.”
The PlayStation 5 version of Stellar Blade was also discussed. It’s been more than six months since its release (it came out on PS5 on April 26th), and despite all that time, Shift Up says that after the initial huge interest, demand has understandably dropped off (it always does), with sales now at a stable level. So the game is still selling, although no more specific numbers were given. The South Korean team also talked about their next game. Project Witches will be a cross-platform project, but more will be said about it in the first half of 2025, so in June at the latest. Its release could be in 2027 at the earliest, so its release could be at least three years away, if not more.
Last time we wrote that NieR: AutomatA DLC and free updates (e.g. photo mode) will be released on November 20th. The price of the DLC is still unknown. A fantastic collaboration where the worlds of Stellar Blade and NieR: AutomatA meet. NieR: AutomatA was a great inspiration for Stellar Blade. The collaboration between director Kim Hyung Tae and director Yoko Taro, marked by mutual respect and creativity, led to this successful result. At the center of it all is Emil (voiced by Maii Kadowaki), the oddball character from NieR: AutomatA. Emil’s shop makes a surprise appearance in the world of Stellar Blade, where eleven different special collaboration items will be available. Items that combine the best of both games and lead you to a richer world.
Let’s hope the PC port is as good as the console version!
