Yakuza-turned-pirate Majima has a lot of dark moves up his sleeve, and our oft-remembered amnesiac hero can also use some unusual instruments.
In Mad Dog, Majima uses a combination of punches, kicks, and knife strikes to make quick work of his enemies. He can also launch his victims into the air and unleash dazzling mid-air combos! Unleash a flurry of punches, kicks and slashing attacks on your opponents! Follow up with dazzling finishing strikes and aerial combos! These devastating Heat Actions can be performed under certain conditions, such as when Majima is armed with an improvised weapon or using his surroundings. While fighting in Mad Dog style, use the Madness Gauge to summon doppelgangers! These apparitions will fight alongside Majima and can be used to unleash insane combo attacks.
The Sea Dog style allows Majima to use his cutlasses to quickly devastate his enemies. He can also unlock Triple Finishers that use all three of his sidearms. Majima’s Heat Actions use both his cutlasses and sidearms. Embrace the pirate life and unleash waves of nautical madness on your enemies! Using the Madness Gauge, Majima can summon dark deities capable of turning the tide of battle. Summoning them requires treasures known as Dark Instruments, which you’ll have to plunder from the ships of defeated rival pirate crews.
Three unique weapons (sidearms) that can be unlocked as you progress through the story. The Cutlass Boomerang allows Majima to throw his cutlasses and damage enemies from a distance. His pistol can also be charged to deal additional damage. Finally, he can use his chain hook to latch onto enemies and zip towards them. There are also the Dark Instruments. With Dark God of the Waves, playing Majima’s cursed violin summons man-eating sharks to the battlefield! These beasts will emerge from the ground and deal heavy damage to enemies within range of their jaws. Additionally, the more enemies there are, the more sharks will appear! In Dark God of the Earth, Majima’s cursed guitar summons a ferocious monkey that deals massive damage to enemies. The deity makes up for its limited range with its sheer destructive power. With Dark God of the Skies, playing a tune on Majima’s cursed saxophone summons an avian ally capable of summoning powerful winds! Enemies caught in his tornadoes will be blown into the air and suffer continuous damage. With Dark God of the Deep, blowing into Majima’s cursed ocarina summons a terrifying jellyfish from the salty depths! This creature will heal Majima and his allies, as well as shock and immobilize nearby enemies.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio also mentioned the Pirate’s Coliseum in Madlantis. This is an arena like no other. Here you’ll engage in sea battles with a variety of different rules: from one-on-one battles to chaotic free-for-alls against nine other crews! You’ll also encounter a variety of colorful opponents unique to the Pirates’ Coliseum, including a shady scientist, a pyromaniac, and even a sumo wrestler! All sorts of challenges await you, the Goromaru, and your trusty crew.
