Bloodborne Fan Remaster: When Sony Won’t, Fans Step Up

“Don’t hate me, Sony,” says the modder who has spent months improving Bloodborne‘s graphics through a fan-made remaster. Fromsoftserve, a modder and content creator specializing in the Soulsborne series, recently released a 30-minute video showcasing enhanced visuals of Bloodborne.

Bloodborne stands as a cult classic in the video game industry, leaving a significant mark on its community. The fact that FromSoftware’s iconic soulslike remains exclusive to PS4 only elevates its legendary status, fueling fans’ calls for Sony to take action. Whether it’s a remaster, a remake, or simply a 60 FPS update for PS5, players have been waiting eagerly. However, what Sony won’t do, the community will.

Fromsoftserve, a creator and modder specializing in Soulsborne games, has uploaded a 30-minute video on his YouTube channel demonstrating graphical improvements for Bloodborne. This ongoing fan remaster project, which he has been working on for months, features advancements such as improved lighting, dynamic shadows, better textures, smoother gameplay, and other technical upgrades.

“This 30-minute video showcases all the progress I’ve made so far, with a montage at the end. Sony won’t remaster Bloodborne, so I’m creating my own amateur remaster. Don’t hate me, Sony. I’ve been working on this project for months,” writes the modder in the video description. Fans have enthusiastically welcomed his efforts, celebrating his dedication to keeping the legacy of the soulslike genre alive.

A few weeks ago, we highlighted this project, where one fan, frustrated by the lack of a PC release for Bloodborne, decided to create his own remaster. Unlike another creator who abandoned a Bloodborne remake out of fear of Sony’s reaction, Fromsoftserve appears undeterred by PlayStation’s potential response. Meanwhile, some players have taken to streaming Bloodborne live, hoping to grab the attention of Sony and FromSoftware for an official remaster on PC.
