Delta Force Surges on PC, but Console Gamers Must Wait: PS5 and Xbox Release Delayed!

Delta Force has surpassed 130,000 concurrent players on PC, but the console versions have been pushed back. Team Jade confirmed that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series releases won’t arrive in the originally planned Q1 2025 window as the studio needs more time to fine-tune the shooter for consoles.

The teams at Team Jade and TiMi Studio made waves with the highly successful Delta Force demo, quickly drawing the attention of tactical shooter fans. Since its late 2024 launch, the game has consistently hit peaks of 130,000 concurrent players on PC. However, PS5 and Xbox Series gamers, who were promised a Q1 2025 release, will now have to wait longer, as the developers officially confirmed a delay.

Developers Explain the Challenges Behind the Delay

The news came from Delta Force’s director and producer, Shadow, during a Q&A session posted on YouTube. In the video, he outlined some of the key obstacles they are still working through: “The console version is progressing well. Right now, one of our biggest challenges is ensuring precise input response, especially for a tactical shooter.” He continued, “How do we guarantee that players of all skill levels get a fair and balanced aiming experience? This is a critical issue we need to solve.”

The team is also focusing on optimizing the Operations mode UI and interactions. “Adapting the interface for this mode is complex, so we need more time. We won’t release it until it meets our internal high-quality standards.” Shadow reassured fans, saying, “We refuse to launch an unfinished version. Our team is fully committed to making sure the console edition meets the highest standards at launch.” He wrapped up the video by apologizing to console gamers: “I know this might be disappointing for some of you. I sincerely apologize, and we will keep working hard to bring you the best experience possible!”

Delta Force’s Campaign Mode Will Be Free to Play

Meanwhile, PC players can already dive into the multiplayer mode and campaign, inspired by Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down. Initially, the game was set to offer its PvP mode as free-to-play while keeping the single-player campaign as paid DLC. However, Team Jade has since decided to make the campaign mode free for all players.

Despite its success, Delta Force isn’t without its flaws. As of this writing, the game holds a 67% “Mixed” rating on Steam, based on 82,779 user reviews. Nevertheless, the developers have pledged to roll out further improvements and additional features throughout 2025 to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
