Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II: The Brutal Retro Shooter Returns With Blood, Pixels, and Precision [VIDEO]

Auroch Digital and Big Fan Games return with another high-octane first-person shooter in the Warhammer universe — this time with even more blood, chaos, and chainsword carnage.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II picks up exactly where the retro-inspired original left off, launching players into a branching single-player campaign that fuses fast-paced FPS combat with the gritty, grimdark atmosphere of Warhammer 40K. From towering hive cities to jungle swamps thick with mangroves, each biome brings unique enemies and brutal challenges to overcome.

Combat is as intense as ever. Arm yourself with iconic Space Marine weapons, including the brutal chainsword and a pixel-shredding shotgun. Tear through cultists, demons, and heretics in glorious 90s-style gore. As your arsenal expands, so do the threats: Bloodletters and Juggernauts hit the battlefield with terrifying force. Every campaign path unlocks unique levels filled with enemies from various factions. The chaos never lets up.

Explore exotic worlds and dynamic combat zones, and stay in the heat of battle with fluid traversal that keeps you always on the offensive.

The project is still early in development, with few details revealed. What we do know: Warhammer 40K: Boltgun II is coming in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. And to tide fans over, a surprise companion game has landed: Warhammer 40K: Boltgun – Words of Vengeance is a free typing game available on Steam. Be warned — it’s brutally precise and punishing.
