TECH NEWS – Gorenje Hungary Kft. Celebrates 75th Anniversary with Record Revenue and Nearly 10% Growth
In 2024, Gorenje achieved its most successful year to date, with net revenue reaching HUF 41.4 billion, marking a 9.67% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth was evident across all product categories, including a 5.7% rise in sales within the large household appliance segment, where the company maintains its market-leading position.
Refrigerators, ovens, and washing machines continue to top the sales charts. Additionally, small household appliances and televisions have shown remarkable performance, with the latter category experiencing a 32% growth, positioning Hisense as the third-largest player in the domestic market.
“At 75 years old, Gorenje not only honors its past but also showcases future-oriented developments: we concluded the 2024 business year with market-leading growth in Hungary, while introducing innovations that transform everyday household life. Our goal is to set the pace in design, sustainability, and technology in the coming decade,” emphasized Norbert Füle, Managing Director of Gorenje Hungary Kft.
Innovations and New Releases at the Anniversary Event
During the press conference, attending journalists were introduced not only to the company’s past and present successes but also to this year’s new products and innovations. Company experts presented upcoming summer releases, including Hisense’s built-in kitchen appliances, Gorenje’s latest Red Dot Design Award-winning kitchen devices, and the newest generation of Gorenje air conditioners. The event also featured the debut of the latest generation of Hisense TVs.
75 Years of Progress, Sustainability, and Design
Gorenje’s journey began in 1950 in a small Slovenian village. Today, the company has sold over 127 million large appliances worldwide, operates in 60 countries, and leads the Adriatic region’s market. The brand is committed to sustainability: in 2024, it received the EcoVadis Silver Medal, and in 2023, the Green Star certification. Gorenje aims for 96% waste recycling and the introduction of 100% recyclable packaging. The company also excels in design, collaborating with world-renowned designers and earning numerous international awards.
