GTA Creator’s New Game Mindseye Launches in a Bug Storm – Players Say It’s Cyberpunk 2077 All Over Again!

Total chaos: Leslie Benzies’ Mindseye launched with sky-high expectations and instantly sparked outrage among gamers. The much-anticipated title has become the talk of Steam – not because of its gameplay, but due to technical issues and harsh reviews. While a few find Mindseye enjoyable, the majority blast its disastrous optimization and constant bugs.

Leslie Benzies, the mind behind GTA Online, was expected to deliver a game-changing experience with Mindseye: a fake open world, addictive gameplay, and a story set in a fictional America of the future. In reality, Mindseye is more of a mirage – just another failed promise inside Everywhere, a massive project that already strayed from its grand ambitions. Developed by Build A Rocket Boy, Benzies’ new studio, Mindseye landed on Steam only to collect “Mostly Negative” reviews, as players vented over poor optimization, weak performance, and a long list of technical issues.

The creators didn’t send out any review keys for Mindseye, so only the player community could be the judge – and their verdict is harsh. Steam users report endless bugs: NPCs vanish when hit by cars, frame rates plummet, the game stutters and crashes, and the entire launch is being compared to the notorious debut of Cyberpunk 2077. Social media is already flooded with absurd bug clips, like flying civilians and clumsy AI. According to SteamDB, the PC launch barely exceeded 3,300 players, and only 39% of reviews are positive.

Not everyone is disappointed – a handful of users say the game is fun enough to pass the time until GTA 6 arrives. Still, one thing is clear: Mindseye will need major patches before it can deliver a smooth, bug-free experience, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the developers change the roadmap after this fiasco. This rough start casts doubt on Build A Rocket Boy’s ability to live up to its promises – can they pull off a No Man’s Sky-style comeback by 2026? For now, players are waiting for apologies, urgent fixes, and patches. There’s still hope left… just barely.
