Salesforce: Half of Their Work Is Now Done by Artificial Intelligence!

TECH NEWS – It’s no wonder, then, that they announced the layoff of 1,000 employees deemed redundant.

 

AI has taken over the world, and the technology is being integrated into countless sectors and industries. While many companies have jumped on the trend, some are taking a step back due to the high cost of deploying advanced AI tools and mounting pressure from regulators. Salesforce, however, is heading in the opposite direction and appears to be doubling down on its AI focus.

Automation is clearly becoming more important in efforts to improve efficiency and reduce expenses. While many tech giants have used AI to transform internal processes, the rapid pace of adoption is forcing some companies to slow down due to growing employee resistance and broader concerns. Salesforce, on the other hand, appears confident that the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.

In a recent Bloomberg interview, CEO Marc Benioff revealed that artificial intelligence now handles half of the company’s operations. Salesforce is accelerating its automation strategy and increasingly relies on generative tools for managing day-to-day workflows. Benioff stated that people must come to terms with AI doing things they used to handle, allowing them to shift toward higher-value work instead.

Just recently, Salesforce confirmed that it was laying off approximately 1,000 employees as part of its aggressive push toward AI. While some staff have been let go, the company plans to hire more talent to fuel its AI-driven ambitions. It’s not the first time a major company has cut jobs in order to refocus on technology.

Salesforce’s current trajectory serves as a stark reminder that in the much-celebrated AI revolution—touted as a path to progress and productivity—human labor is often the cost of opportunity. Rather than expanding teams, the tech is replacing them, creating a growing atmosphere of job insecurity and unease.
