Multiple endings have always been a hallmark of the Silent Hill series, dating back to the PS1 classic in 1999. NeoBards Entertainment continues this tradition with Silent Hill F, promising various endings—including the much-anticipated UFO finale—and a New Game+ mode to keep players coming back for more.
During a press event in Tokyo, the developers at Konami and NeoBards Entertainment confirmed that Silent Hill F will feature multiple endings, each with its own interpretation and meaning. Among them is the now-iconic UFO ending, echoing the series’ quirky legacy. Whether an all-seeing shiba inu will appear remains to be seen, but with the story set in Japan, it wouldn’t be out of place.
Writer Ryukishi07 explained that players will first experience a deliberately crafted ending in their initial playthrough, while subsequent runs will unlock new perspectives and additional endings—entirely dependent on the choices made. According to Ryukishi07, none of the endings will be clearly labeled “good” or “bad,” leaving interpretation up to the player.
Aliens, Diaries, and Replay Value
Alongside the expected UFO ending, the narrative itself weaves in references to aliens and intergalactic battles. The protagonist, Shimizu Hinako, reveals early in the story that she and her classmate Shu used to play an invented sci-fi game as children. By completing Hinako’s in-game diary, players get a window into these imaginary space wars.
Replayability will be further enhanced by a New Game+ mode, which adds expanded exploration, different boss fights, and new story developments revealed through fresh scenes. Silent Hill F launches September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC—a major shift for NeoBards, previously known for Resident Evil: Re:Verse and Resident Evil: Resistance.
