This project feels like a fusion of Sucker Punch and Nintendo’s classics, borrowing heavily from the whimsical visual style of Studio Ghibli.
You may remember Inkyfox, the studio behind Omno. That title turned out to be a hidden indie gem on Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus. Their next creation, Kibu, is being published by Future Friends Games, a publisher with a solid track record of charming indie releases. Inkyfox teaming up with Future Friends Games looks like an ideal match.
Developed by the mind behind Omno, Kibu is a tranquil yet engaging adventure about seeking wisdom in the heart of nature. Players step into the role of a solitary monk living deep in the wilderness. Armed with a staff, you climb, glide, and carve your path across striking landscapes. Connect with the land’s spirits while gradually restoring the ruined temple you call home. Explore distinctive biomes, uncover the teachings of ancient spirits, and gather treasures such as fish and bonsai trees along the way. Combat is built around a tactile, fluid system that challenges you to adapt to overcome enemies. With divine powers at your side, you’ll transform a crumbling sanctuary into a thriving natural haven.
