[GC 2025] Neverness to Everness: Gamescom Trailer Reveals Supernatural Urban Playground [VIDEO]

Perfect World Games and Hotta Studio released a new trailer for the free-to-play supernatural open-world RPG Neverness to Everness at Gamescom 2025, along with full details on the demo and booth activities.

The 15-minute demo is playable at booth B040 in Hall 9 on both PlayStation 5 and PC. Players who pre-register for the game and follow its official Twitter account can receive a Gamescom 2025 tote bag and a sheet of character stickers by visiting the booth entrance.

A raffle is also available, offering holographic cards, Taygedo-themed fans, and collectible pins as prizes. To enter, attendees must complete the demo, record their gameplay using the on-site phone stands, upload the video to social media, and present the post to staff members at the booth.

The PlayStation 5 version of the game is also fully playable. It features realistic urban environments, vehicle-based gameplay, and supernatural encounters. A dedicated PlayStation game hub has also been launched, offering information, community tools, and wishlist functionality.

The demo highlights the debut of real-time path tracing powered by NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 Series and DLSS 4. Advanced lighting, reflections, and shadows are demonstrated using DLSS 4’s Multi Frame Generation technology. All gameplay is shown on TCL 27R83U monitors.

Neverness to Everness takes place in the city of Hethereau. Players take on the role of an unlicensed Anomaly Hunter working with the Eibon antique shop, which survives by accepting public anomaly investigation requests. Alongside a range of eccentric allies, the player tackles supernatural cases while exploring the hidden depths of the city.

Hethereau blends mundane life with bizarre sights. Esper civil servants clean their suits with a finger snap, while strange creatures queue for permits. In another corner of the city, a chase after Danzaburou unfolds, and a silver-gloved butler chats with an electronics vendor. These scenes make up the surreal everyday life of the city.

The game includes multiple side plots: a pawnshop that appears only during the full moon, Taygedo’s looming heartbreak over Miss Tako’s departure, and the reopening of the Film Orbit Studio, where Eibon employees receive member discounts. Meanwhile, weather reports warn of increased activity from the mysterious Anomaly Rainman.

Hints of the growing influence of the secretive “Circle” organization and prophetic fragments add further layers to the narrative. Players piece together the bigger picture through dialogue, exploration, and investigation.

The world includes unusual NPCs like robotic butlers, troublemakers, masked mercenaries, and television-headed mechanics. Hankaku Street serves as the player’s base for social expansion. NPCs can be added as “Bagel” friends, and several factions offer their own storylines and recruitment paths.

Traversal is open-ended. Vehicles are customizable, and players can ride the Ghost Train to travel between anomaly zones. Apartments can be purchased and decorated, and seasonal items are available from Hankaku vendors.

Neverness to Everness is in development for PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. A release date has not been announced.
