This dark fantasy action-RPG turns your weapon into both your greatest ally and your most dangerous threat. Daimon Blades is the new project from the creators of E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy, inviting players into a brutal descent through demon-infested catacombs.
Among the surprises revealed at Gamescom 2025, Daimon Blades caught attention as both a prequel and a spiritual reboot of E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy. Developed by Streum On Studio, the French team behind Necromunda, the game discards cyberpunk themes in favor of dark fantasy and raw melee combat.
The story is set centuries before the events of E.Y.E, retaining many of the same factions while shifting focus to a world overrun by demonic forces. Players descend into underground labyrinths to stop the corruption from spreading. Whether solo or in co-op, they won’t be alone—each weapon in the game is possessed by a demon that aids the player in battle but becomes increasingly dangerous over time.
Your Weapon Wants to Help You—and Take You Over
Each run begins with a descent into the catacombs, where players battle through enemies and collect gear. The deeper they go, the tougher the enemies become. Progression involves upgrading both the character’s stats and the demon inhabiting their weapon. Every demon has unique powers and behavior patterns. The more it is used, the more it attempts to corrupt its wielder. Players must choose whether to hold onto the demon’s strength or reject it before succumbing to its curse.
The game follows a roguelike structure, with levels and sublevels in each expedition. Average runs last 10–20 minutes, though more difficult ones will require significantly more time and coordination. Side objectives are available within each run, offering new weapons, equipment, and lore to uncover. At launch, the game is expected to feature 12 different weapon types.
Daimon Blades is designed around intense first-person melee combat with heavy emphasis on player choice and consequence. Every weapon is a gamble: power at the cost of potential damnation.
Currently, only the PC version is confirmed, but Streum On is actively working on ports for other platforms. The game will launch in early access via Steam on September 3.
