Lost Skies: Only Five Months in Early Access! [VIDEO]

The game from Bossa Games and Humble Games won’t be available on Steam Early Access for much longer, as the release date for version 1.0 has been announced.

Explore Lost Skies with up to five friends. Discover forgotten technology and clues left behind by ancient civilizations. Uncover what led to this fractured world high above the clouds. Build a fully customizable, upgradeable skyship that serves as your home base and battleship against colossal sky creatures known as the Seraph. Brave dizzying heights with physics-based grappling hooks, wingsuits, and gliders. Enjoy the freedom to explore endless possibilities.

In 2017, Bossa Games launched the ambitious sandbox MMO Worlds Adrift into Early Access. While the game ultimately did not reach a version 1.0 release, their passion for the project and the world they created never diminished. When the time was right, Bossa decided to build upon the strong groundwork left behind by Worlds Adrift. Lost Skies is that spiritual successor in every way. The small but mighty team at Bossa Games, creators of physics-fueled hits like Surgeon Simulator and I Am Fish, has worked tirelessly to make Lost Skies the best possible experience for former Worlds Adrift players and newcomers alike. Building on their past successes, the team has crafted Lost Skies into a playground of fun and inventive mechanics. The grapple hook, in particular, has been hailed by players as the best grappling system, offering the smooth and rewarding experience you’d expect from a AAA title.

With the introduction of the Island Creator, players could craft their own islands and share them in preparation for the arrival of Early Access. Dozens of these handcrafted islands populate the world that players explore daily. Players can unleash their creativity by designing skyships however they choose and crafting the perfect home base among the clouds. Full key binding was added so players could customize their controls for climbing, grappling, gliding, and fighting with whatever setup suits them best. New weapons, ship assets, naval boss battles, regions, puzzles, a map table, storage naming, better inventory management, and much more were added during the Early Access period and are ready for all players to enjoy in the 1.0 launch. From day one, the team has worked to remove bugs, deliver quality-of-life updates, and ensure the utmost stability for version 1.0 as players journey through the clouds.

Lost Skies was a unique opportunity for designers. If you could revisit themes and experiences, what would you do? We really wanted to enhance the elements players loved from Worlds Adrift, such as exploring hundreds of floating islands and building a unique skyship with rare materials and parts found on your journey. We’ve also thrown in some huge, sky-filling bosses for good measure. We’ve spent the last three years working with our community to build an experience that players can enjoy for years to come,” said lead game designer Luke Williams.

Lost Skies will be released on PC on September 17. It has been in Early Access since April 18.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
