Blackwood: A Little Thriller in New York [VIDEO]

Set in Brooklyn in 2012, Blackwood is an action thriller. However, AttritoM7 Productions, known for Zero Hour, currently has no plans to release the game on consoles.

Step into the gritty world of Blackwood, a third-person action thriller that fuses responsive, fluid combat with cinematic storytelling. By day, Anton Blackwood runs a small DVD store in Brooklyn, where routine and brief glimpses of normal life unfold. Among the customers and dusty shelves, a woman working in the store catches a rare glimpse of Anton’s softer side — a part of himself he rarely reveals to anyone. Spend your days lounging in your apartment, managing the store, and living the life of a man struggling to stay balanced in a city that shows no mercy for weakness.

But when the shutters close and the streets grow silent, Anton descends into the basement — a private space where more than just movies are available for rent. At night, he prowls the city as a lethal assassin, choreographing his moves like scenes from his favorite crime thrillers. Execute brutal melee takedowns, stage environmental kills, and survive intense foot and car chases. Anton may think he’s the hero of his own story, but someone is always watching, pulling the strings from the shadows. In Blackwood, style and violence are intertwined, and the narrative shifts based on choices and consequences. Every battle is a reckoning, and every decision matters.

Blackwood combines close-quarters combat with slow-burn storytelling. From the basement of a quiet Brooklyn DVD store to the neon-soaked streets of New York’s underworld in 2012, every encounter is meticulously choreographed and deeply cinematic. Every choice leaves its mark. The quiet moments with the shop clerk remind Anton — and the player — that even in the darkest corners of the city, fragments of humanity still remain. Gunplay is quick, stylish, and merciless, with fluid movement options like dives, rolls, and slides to keep the action unrelenting. Each fight is both cinematic and responsive, letting you unleash chaos in your own way.

The game’s signature feature is its vast array of contextual takedowns. From brutal one-on-one executions to using the environment as a weapon, every encounter becomes an opportunity to dispatch enemies with precision and flair. Your shop is more than just a front — it’s your home, your disguise, and your anchor. Buy and sell DVDs, change outfits, interact with your apartment, and explore small RPG elements that make your double life feel tangible. The contrast between day and night defines the choices you make and the world around you.

With a Marvel-style narrative, Blackwood introduces flawed, deeply human characters trying to survive in a violent, secret-ridden city. Every ad, tattoo, and poster has a story to tell. Each mission pulls you deeper into a tangled web of conspiracies and consequences. Blackwood is scheduled to launch on PC in Q3 2026 (between July and September).
