A new game creation platform will let anyone make games for consoles and share them with the gaming community.
Gaijin Entertainment is proud to unveil EdenSpark, the first open-source platform that lets independent developers make their games accessible to console users hassle-free while truly owning their code. Closed Beta Testing begins this November, with full release planned for 2026.
EdenSpark gives individual creators easy access to consoles even without a registered company or costly legal paperwork. Anyone can turn their idea into a game and share it with friends on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox. Unlike closed ecosystems that offer a similar experience, EdenSpark developers retain full ownership of their games. They can keep projects within the EdenSpark community or self-publish independently and take their work anywhere. This unique mix of accessibility and freedom bridges a gap: major engines may offer professional flexibility, but they either don’t get you to a console audience quickly and easily, or aren’t FOSS, or neither. EdenSpark closes that gap.
EdenSpark is designed to lower the barriers to game development and spark the creativity of every gamer who’s dreamed of making their own thing. Experienced programmers can dive into code, while complete newcomers can rely on AI-assisted tools to generate art, audio, and gameplay logic—or simply build worlds from plain prompts. You can even create games on a retail console, with only a keyboard as the extra accessory. EdenSpark is powered by Gaijin’s Dagor Engine, the proven tech behind War Thunder, Enlisted, and Active Matter, ensuring professional-grade performance for projects of any scale.
The journey begins in November 2025 as EdenSpark enters Closed Beta with access to several prototypes and the ability to upload personal projects. By summer 2026, version 1.0 will launch with stable APIs and full AI assistant integration, while autumn will bring the release of EdenSpark’s PC source code along with official Xbox and PlayStation support. The full roadmap is available on the official EdenSpark website.
“EdenSpark is more than just another game creation kit,” said Anton Yudintsev, co-founder of Gaijin Entertainment. “It’s the first platform that truly opens consoles to solo developers while guaranteeing they remain the owners of their games. Whether you want to share a funny prototype with friends or build a real career as an independent studio, EdenSpark gives you both the tools and the freedom.”
EdenSpark has already been used to prototype a wide range of projects—from charming pixel-art games and experimental racers to modern military shooters with AAA-grade visuals. They appear in the EdenSpark trailer and will be available to download as soon as the Closed Beta starts.
