The legendary mod project for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is reaching a new milestone. The tenth major expansion, Poison Song, finally lets players join the long-desired House Indoril — Nerevar’s ancestral house, absent from the game’s joinable factions for over twenty years.
Tamriel Rebuilt remains one of the most ambitious community projects ever conceived. Its goal: to recreate the entire province of Morrowind, including the regions Bethesda Game Studios couldn’t finish for the 2002 classic. Following 2025’s Grasping Fortune, the upcoming Poison Song chapter introduces new factions, quests, and territories.
In the base game, players could only join three great houses: Hlaalu (Empire-aligned merchants), Redoran (traditionalist warriors), and Telvanni (mushroom-dwelling wizards). Missing were House Indoril — home of the legendary Indoril Nerevar — and House Dres, infamous for its reliance on slavery. Joining Indoril in Poison Song carries deep narrative weight, given that Morrowind’s main quest revolves around the player being Nerevar reborn.
The mod’s writing and world-building have consistently matched Bethesda’s early-2000s tone, rich in mysticism, politics, and myth. The Indoril integration feels natural, expanding the lore without breaking immersion — a testament to the team’s dedication after more than two decades of work.
Developers report that progress is strong across all fronts, with finalization expected within a few months. If all goes well, 2026 will begin with Poison Song, giving fans even more Morrowind to explore — twenty-three years later, and counting.
