TaleWorlds Entertainment has finally pinned a date on Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord’s naval expansion: War Sails launches November 26 on PC and consoles for $24.99, complete with a fresh gameplay showcase and a meaty feature rundown.
Originally slated for June, War Sails was delayed and will now arrive simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. A standalone Naval Battle Mode lets you instantly spin up fleet engagements on river, coastal, or open-sea maps—perfect for testing tactics, trying ship builds, or jumping straight into action without touching the campaign.
Naval warfare leans into medieval grit and the physics of wind and water. Boarding and ramming are on the table, as are crippling foes by snapping oars, punching holes in hulls, or shredding sails. The expansion adds the Northern Kingdom—the fearless Nords’ homeland—where you can trade, recruit, and fight across jagged peaks and icy fjords.
Calradia expands northward with a Northern Sea, islands, rivers, and open waters for sailing, resupply, and land–sea skirmishes. At launch you’ll choose from 18 distinct ships, each with handling shaped by wind and waves; upgrade them with siege engines, sails, and rams, purchase or capture vessels, and develop ports to strengthen your maritime foothold.
With War Sails, you can push deep into enemy territory via rivers and seas. Supplying armies, sinking hostile ships, and enforcing blockades become decisive, all while minding stormy weather. Expect new companions, unique weapons, and Scandinavian flags, hairstyles, tattoos, and armor to round out the seafaring theme.
First released in October 2022, Bannerlord still boasts a thriving fanbase and an energetic mod scene (Bannerlord Online, total conversions like Realm of Thrones, and even generative-AI dialogue mods). War Sails sets sail on November 26 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
