Battlefield 6: Surprisingly Small Maps Compared to Earlier Entries

A community comparison indicates Battlefield 6’s maps are generally smaller than in past games – even the largest BF6 arena, Operation Firestorm, ranks only 32nd by playable area, whereas BF3’s original placed 7th.

On r/Battlefield, community member ClaraTheRed published clear, same-scale visuals comparing 87 franchise maps, distinguishing total footprint from playable space. The charts put BF6 on the back foot: the reworked Operation Firestorm is notably trimmed versus the BF3 classic, and the biggest original BF6 map, Mirak Valley, comes in at 35th overall.

At the other extreme, Saints Quarter ranks as the franchise’s second smallest map, reinforcing complaints about cramped layouts and funneled fights. While the series’ widest maps often arrived as DLC, BF6’s launch lineup still looks modest next to earlier entries.

Updated: Battlefield Maps (from BF3, BF4, BFHL, BF1, BFV, BF2042, BF6)

The debate is lively: players want larger, more open spaces. We’ll see if DICE and Battlefield Studios fold that feedback into upcoming updates.
