Frustration is spilling over in ARC Raiders as one playlist is widely described as a slog. Feeds are packed with the same request to the devs: add a queue built specifically for two players.
One of the year’s headline launches has climbed to multiplayer review highs not seen in years, but it isn’t flawless. The way duos work is a weak link, and players who team up with one friend are asking for a dedicated lane.
Right now, solos face solos and three-stacks meet other trios. You can queue as two and disable auto-fill for the third slot, but matchmaking still throws you at full teams. In practice, that means running into 2v3 fights again and again if you pair up.
As noted by Eurogamer UK, complaints are piling up across platforms asking Embark Studios to add a true duos mode. On Reddit, one player calls it the one big missing piece and says they’re tired of facing trios when they just want to play with a friend. Others report getting steamrolled at most points of interest because duos are matched against full squads.
Some put it even more bluntly, saying duos act like a “loot delivery service” for trios during raids. The ask isn’t to change the core gameplay – it shines when fights are even – but to let duos face duos without forcing a random third teammate just to have a fair shot.
Embark Studios hasn’t commented yet. With a stated ten-year plan for ARC Raiders, the request could hit the roadmap sooner or later – whether as a duos-only list or smarter pairing that prioritizes two-stacks.
The Shop Is Another Flashpoint – Prices and Skin Quality Draw Criticism
There’s another sore spot. Beyond the long-term update plan, the cosmetic store is raising eyebrows, with some character skins priced around 15–20 euros.
Other games use similar pricing, but ARC Raiders isn’t free to play and still nudges post-purchase spending. With sales estimates above 2.5 million units, many argue the studio is outpacing The Finals and shouldn’t push cosmetic prices this high.
