The Blood Of Dawnwalker: Another 28 Minutes in Sangora Based on Feedback [VIDEO]

After nearly five months, Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco presented another video of their promising game.

Set in 14th-century Europe, bloody conflicts sweep the land, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. It’s a moment of weakness, and that’s all the vampires need to seize their opportunity and claim what they’ve been denied for centuries: freedom and power. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they’ve been denied for centuries: freedom and power. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends become reality, and history as we know it will never be the same. You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker who now treads the line between the world of day and the realm of night forever. Will you fight for your humanity or embrace your curse to save your family? Whatever you choose, the question remains: Is your soul worth the lives of your loved ones?

Experience and shape the plot however you like. Embark on a quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy anyone who stands in your way. Discover the ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in headfirst or take time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances. There are two different gameplay loops: one during the day and one at night. Each loop offers unique abilities, mysteries to uncover, and various ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and observe how the world reacts to your actions.

Every action—and inaction—shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and each time you embark on a quest, time moves forward, bringing you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You won’t have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. Neither does the villain. Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature, and use your supernatural vampire abilities. As a human, raise your sword and use powerful magic to take on opponents. Experiment and adapt as your form changes throughout the day and night—each has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Venture through the hand-crafted open world and discover all it has to offer. Roam through lush forests, vast plains, treacherous swamps, steep mountaintops, and medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remnants of an ancient civilization, and uncover truths that should probably remain hidden. Experience the beginning of a brand-new saga built with love for the role-playing genre. Immerse yourself in a visually stunning world powered by Unreal Engine 5.

The developers demonstrated how a game mission can differ depending on whether the player approaches it during the day or at night. This is thanks to the special nature of the protagonist, Dawnwalker Coen, who is half human and half vampire. During the day, Coen can easily walk into the cathedral, but at night, he can only enter using his vampire abilities, such as Planeshift and Shadowstep. Different paths of discovery are available, and Coen sees his vampire abilities come to life after sunset. Even sword strikes are faster in vampire form than in human form. Players can now choose to use vampire claws or swords. All of this is part of the narrative sandbox that the developers tout as the game’s main distinguishing feature.

Rebel Wolves, formed by former CD Projekt RED developers who worked on The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, said that, based on user feedback collected after previous trailers, they changed several things. One change is a new camera option that moves the viewpoint further away from the character. Players can now also adjust the camera separately for combat and exploration. The active abilities menu no longer pauses gameplay when selecting abilities. Additionally, all ability selections now occur in real time, providing a more fluid and immersive combat experience. To this end, Rebel Wolves has also improved the pace and animations of combat.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is coming to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC in 2026.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
