Grand Theft Auto VI: Will It Be Unbeatable for Two Decades?

According to a reliable source, the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto franchise will set the bar so high that we won’t see its equal in the gaming industry until 2040.

Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the most highly anticipated games ever, and the long wait for its release will reportedly be worthwhile, as it will take decades for other games to catch up to what Rockstar Games has achieved. Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly, whose Rockstar-related news sources have proven reliable in the past, responded on Twitter to a fan who asked if Grand Theft Auto VI might just be GTA V 2.0.

Reilly stated that this will not be the case because some of the ideas implemented by Rockstar Games in Grand Theft Auto VI are extremely ambitious and will likely remain unmatched for nearly two decades. It could take developers 15–20 years to achieve what the Grand Theft Auto development team has achieved in the next installment of the series. While this statement may seem exaggerated, there is probably some truth to what Kiwi Talkz has heard. Although we’ve seen very little of the game so far, patents and leaked information reveal that Grand Theft Auto VI will advance the franchise and the open-world genre with impressive features.

The AI features of NPCs seem particularly interesting. Human NPCs will reportedly have an AIMemory system that allows them to remember players’ actions and decisions, influencing their interactions. NPCs will reportedly be able to smell players and other NPCs. This is certainly an unusual feature, but it could enhance the gaming experience, as could dynamic environments influenced not only by the progression of the story but also by players’ actions.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a while longer to try out these features for themselves in Grand Theft Auto VI, as the release date has already been delayed twice. It was originally scheduled for release this fall on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, then postponed to May, and finally to November.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
