Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus II: Don’t Expect It This Winter

Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games have finally outlined a release window for Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus II, offering a clearer picture of when the strategy sequel may arrive, while still leaving room for adjustments.

The newly announced timeframe gives the developers additional breathing room to further refine the experience based on player feedback gathered during the Steam Next Fest demo. During the event, the game ranked among the most played titles, generating a substantial amount of feedback that the team has taken seriously.

Bulwark Studios confirmed that work is already underway on the most frequently requested features. The full release will include expanded audio options, allowing players to choose between the “lingua-technis” – the binaric machine language of the Adeptus Mechanicus that helped define the atmosphere of the original game – or the more traditional human voiceover featured in the demo. Movement systems are also being refined, with an optional setting that automatically selects the Move action when switching between units, resulting in a smoother and more efficient tactical flow.

The team is equally focused on resolving performance issues identified during the demo period. Ongoing optimization efforts, combined with the continued refinement of new systems and campaign content, are central to ensuring that the sequel meets both community expectations and the studio’s own ambitions.

Alongside the announcement, Kasedo Games released the first entry in an ongoing video series showcasing customization options and unique faction mechanics that were not present in the demo. Each episode highlights two deployable leaders, one from the Adeptus Mechanicus and one from the Necrons, offering a detailed look at their playstyles, abilities, and strategic importance within the broader conflict.

Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus II is currently slated for a spring release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC, though it remains unclear whether the game will arrive in March, April, or May. The original title launched on PC on November 15, 2018, before making its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on July 17, 2020. The sequel itself was officially announced in May 2024, roughly a year and a half ago.
