The German developers released another video showing how they will expand their next game, an action RPG.
Moon Studios, the developer of the Ori series, recently released a new gameplay video for No Rest For The Wicked, their action RPG currently in early access. In exactly one week, the game will receive a major update called Together that will officially add a cooperative mode. Players had a chance to try the update during a weekend beta test at the end of 2025, but it will be available to all players starting January 22. The update reimagines the traditional cooperative multiplayer mode of ARPGs and MMORPGs by allowing up to four players to share a free, persistent realm, thus eliminating the need for a host to be online.
All four players can share the rewards earned from battles. Enemies react differently when three friends accompany us as we corner them. We can also work together with friends outside of battles. For example, we can build and share houses and go fishing. It seems that we can enjoy the whole game with three friends by our side.
The Together update is the first major update for No Rest For The Wicked since its early access launch on April 18, 2024. There is currently no exact release date for version 1.0, but players speculate that it will likely be released sometime this year. We’ll see how the year unfolds for Moon Studios, but with the co-op mode coming soon, the community’s 2026 prediction may be right.
This game is completely different from Moon Studios’ previous games, Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of Wisps, which were side-scrolling platformers. However, it seems that the team will meet players’ expectations.
