Gamers No Longer Trust PlayStation

Gamers who have criticised Sony at every opportunity on social media once again attacked the company over its decision to eliminate physical media by 2028. The most frequently repeated message, reflecting the widespread sentiment among users, was: “No disc, no purchase.” Sony also received sharp and sarcastic comments over its strategy of deliberately ignoring the storm and hoping that the community will forget its new direction towards digital-only gaming.
“Great job avoiding the taboo subject and, on top of that, showing a PS5 with a disc drive when you are going to remove it later,” ARTINY wrote on X. “You have managed to make your customers wonder whether the next update will restrict their gaming options, Sony and PlayStation. Well done. Greed has blinded you,” Kringy commented. “I do not trust you anymore. Maybe this update disables the disc drive or something,” brontosamus added. With the post receiving more than 1,100 comments, almost all of them negative, it is clear that the community will continue to criticise PlayStation beneath every new social media post.
