The Launch Windows for Both Darksiders 4 and Kingdom Come: Salvation Have Been Narrowed Down!

Embracer Group’s financial report sheds light on several things, so it’s worth taking a closer look at it.

In its report on the first quarter of the 2026/27 fiscal year, Embracer Group confirmed that Darksiders 4 and the next Kingdom Come game will be released during the next fiscal year, which begins in April 2027 and ends in March 2028. This provides a fairly clear release window for both games. Darksiders 4 was announced a year ago. Following Darksiders III, this title is also being developed by Gunfire Games, with several developers returning from the first two installments. For the first time in the series, all four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will be playable characters. To take advantage of this, the game will feature an online co-op mode, which is also a new addition. Little is known about the game so far, but it will feature a mix of combat sequences, movement, and puzzles. Each Horseman will have unique weapons, combat styles, and supernatural abilities, and the apocalyptic landscapes will be full of secrets to discover, enemies to defeat, and mythical bosses.

As for the next Kingdom Come title, we already knew the release window thanks to developer Warhorse Studios, which is also still in the early stages of developing another Embracer-owned IP: a role-playing game based on The Lord of the Rings. The trademark filing has provided some clarity: the new game is expected to be titled Kingdom Come: Salvation, suggesting a minor spin-off rather than a full-fledged sequel. Nevertheless, the studio has assured fans that it will be a realistic and immersive game.

Tomb Raider: Catalyst is set to be released this fiscal year. However, it is unclear whether this will be in 2027 or 2028, as the head of Amazon Game Studios recently revealed. Beyond confirming the release window, the report paints a picture of a company gaining momentum. The group’s net revenue increased by 24% compared to the previous year, reaching SEK 3.943 billion, with 33% organic growth. Meanwhile, cash EBIT turned from a loss of SEK 99 million a year ago to a profit of SEK 47 million for the quarter.

The strongest performance came from Embracer’s business segment, the group’s PC/console, mobile, and publishing divisions, whose net revenue jumped by 48%, primarily thanks to Gothic 1 Remake. This sold 500,000 copies in its first week and is already close to breaking even. Fellowship Entertainment, the IP-focused part of the division which includes the Tomb Raider, Kingdom Come, and Metro franchises, had a relatively quiet quarter with no new games released and a 23% fall in revenue. However, Embracer expects this trend to reverse sharply once Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV, Metro 2039, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis are released later in the fiscal year.
