TECH NEWS – Apple’s September 9 event is only days away, with the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the company’s first foldable iPhone expected to take center stage. TrendForce analysts predict price increases of around 10–20%, while Apple’s long-awaited foldable could enter the market at an eye-watering €2,200–€2,400.

Apple’s next major event is only a few days away, and the company is expected to unveil the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max alongside its first foldable smartphone. The latter has tentatively been referred to as the iPhone Ultra in some reports, although that name has yet to be confirmed. Pricing has already emerged as one of the biggest concerns surrounding the new generation, particularly because the memory shortage affecting the wider technology industry has dramatically increased manufacturing costs.

At this point, some form of price increase increasingly appears to be an open secret. The bigger question is exactly how large it will be. Some leakers believe the hike will not be as severe as the increases Apple has already introduced across parts of its Mac and iPad lineup, but a noticeable jump still appears likely. TrendForce analysts have now produced their own estimate of where the new iPhones could land based on current market conditions.

iPhone 18 Pro Prices Could Rise by $150 to $200

It is important to stress that TrendForce’s report is not based on leaked information from Apple. Instead, these figures are forecasts produced by its analysts based on current market conditions. As a result, the projected prices for the new Pro lineup should not be treated as Apple’s final retail prices, but rather as estimates of how rising component costs could influence the company’s pricing strategy.

TrendForce expects the base prices of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max to rise by approximately $150 to $200 compared with the iPhone 17 Pro generation. There is no direct one-to-one conversion between U.S. and European Apple pricing, but based on the company’s usual pricing structure, the new models could roughly land at the following levels:

• iPhone 18 Pro: from around €1,469 or €1,519.
• iPhone 18 Pro Max: from around €1,619 or €1,669.

Those projections conflict somewhat with other estimates. Mark Gurman, who is known not only as an analyst but also as one of the most reliable sources of information about Apple, recently suggested that the increase could be “only” around $100 or €100. Even so, the various forecasts appear to agree on one thing: the entry-level iPhone 18 Pro is increasingly likely to sit much closer to €1,500 than the current price of roughly €1,300.

The biggest factor behind the expected price increases is the ongoing memory crisis. According to TrendForce, Apple is now facing memory costs for the 256GB Pro model that are nearly 400% higher than they were a year ago. Although Apple has reportedly been negotiating lower prices for other components, those savings are unlikely to fully offset the dramatic increase in memory costs.

Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Could Be Even More Expensive

Predicting the price of Apple’s first foldable iPhone is even more difficult because there is no previous model to use as a direct comparison. Reports have suggested for months that the device will cost more than €2,000, but the upper end of Apple’s potential pricing remains unclear.

TrendForce estimates that the foldable model could start somewhere between $2,099 and $2,299 in the United States. Based on Apple’s typical European pricing and currency conversion, that could translate into roughly €2,200–€2,400. Similar figures have repeatedly surfaced in industry reports and rumors over the past several months.

Separate from the TrendForce report, an alleged Vodafone Egypt leak surfaced this week with an even more extreme figure. Converted into euros, the listed price would be around €2,600. That is significantly higher than current analyst estimates, but given the premium positioning expected for Apple’s first foldable smartphone, it cannot yet be completely ruled out.

Fortunately, the speculation should not continue for much longer. Apple will hold its next major event on Wednesday, September 9, when the company is expected to unveil its new iPhones and reveal their official pricing. One thing already seems increasingly clear: anyone planning to buy an iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max or Apple’s first foldable iPhone may need a larger budget than ever before.
