Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge Is Coming from the SNES to Modern Platforms! [VIDEO]

Actually, it’s from the Super Famicom since the game was only released in Japan. Drecom and D4 Enterprise are porting it to the PC and other platforms.

The classic computer RPG, Wizardry, returns with a new system featuring six new races, six new classes, a revamped spell system, animated monsters that roar and screech, a skill system that shapes each character, and immersive sound that draws players deep into the adventure. One hundred and twenty years ago, a lord ruled who was as wicked as any who had ever lived, and a sorcerer whose evil matched his own lived too. The two joined forces and waged a magical war to destroy every evil power but their own. In the midst of that war, they learned of “it”—a magic pen whose every written word becomes reality: the Cosmic Forge.

They seized the pen and began weaving terror into the very fabric of the cosmos. However, it wasn’t long before the two became jealous of each other’s power, and a final battle broke out to determine their fates and the fate of the pen. What happened after that, no one knows. Now, adventurers who may change the pen’s and the cosmos’s fate are about to set foot within the castle’s walls. The Super Famicom version of Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge, released in Japan in 1995, comes to Steam with its original atmosphere intact. Experience the tension that only classic computer RPGs can deliver through first-person dungeon exploration and turn-based command battles.

The character system has been overhauled to include six new races and six new classes. The character creation system lets you design the face you imagine. Engage in tense battles against roaring, animated monsters. The game features a skill system that defines each character, paired with a revamped spell system. Beautiful, realistic dungeon graphics now include outdoor areas.

Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge will definitely be released for PC in 2027. However, no details have been provided yet regarding other platforms. They have only said that it will be a multiplatform title. It’s somewhat puzzling that only Japanese will be supported.
