Styx: Master of Shadows wasn’t bad, but Shards of Darkness will grow over its predecessor by a landslide, it seems!
Focus Home Interactive published a gameplay video of Cyanide‘s upcoming game. We can see in a lot of ways how the game improved: the engine will be a newer iteration, for starters. Cyanide uses Unreal Engine 4 instead of 3; the game’s world will be larger with more environments, and a lot more things to discover. This expansion means more sneaking than before, too!
Styx seems to be inspired by Assassin’s Creed, and the Batman: Arkham games. No problem, getting inspired by bigger games and using that to your advantage isn’t a crime. Our character can now craft, too, providing more variability in the gameplay.
Styx: Shards of Darkness is out in Q1 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. (Yeah, another game that got delayed…) Pre-ordering nets you the first game for free, and the Akenash Pack with the dagger!
