Pewdiepie versus the world – the match goes into the second round.
Earlier this week, Disney has terminated Felix Kjellberg’s, aka Pewdiepie‘s contract. We also heard that Google had removed his channel from the recommended channels over YouTube. It’s time for the Swedish gentleman’s comeback.
First, he apologized for his anti-Semitic jokes, stating that he has „gone too far.” However, in the video below the article, he has also attacked the media, aiming mainly at the Wall Street Journal. „They don’t call it jokes. They call it posts. I made a point that the media takes what I say out of context. They take that and put it out of context to use against me to portray me as a Nazi,” Felix says. What was Wall Street Journal‘s reaction? „We stand by our reporting.”
Felix also says that others have overexaggerated the situation, also saying that the media tends to „blatantly misrepresent people for their personal gain.” „Personally, I think they [WSJ – the editor] are the ones normalizing hatred because there is actual hatred out there instead of celebrating my show getting canceled, why don’t we focus on that instead? Why don’t we focus on some real issues?,” he added.
The situation gets more and more heated, and it doesn’t seem to end yet.
