The UK players prefer to buy their games on disc.
GamesIndustry reports based on GfK Chart-Track and Association for UK Interactive Entertainment that in the United Kingdom, 50.2% (!) of physically sold games were for the PlayStation 4. 2017 is the first year where one platform managed to gain the majority against the other ones. The Xbox One finished second (31.6%).
Sony managed to gain the first place on the charts with no less than SEVEN (platform) exclusives, and Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy led for seven weeks (five of it was a consistent lead). The other titles were Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Persona 5, WipeOut: Omega Collection, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Gran Turismo: Sport.
Digitally, the situation could be different, and a lot of Xbox-exclusive games (such as Forza Motorsport 7) faced off successful multiplatform titles (such as FIFA 18). Still, congratulations to Sony!
