Konami also released a cooperative trailer.
Metal Gear Survive is the first title in the franchise developed post-Kojima, as he left in 2015 to reform Kojima Productions under Sony and began developing Death Stranding. Back to Metal Gear Survive, the „zombie spin-off” survival action game, it will require a constant Internet connection (plus it will have Denuvo on PC), and it currently runs an open beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
DigitalFoundry already provided an analysis of the game: they revealed that the game runs on 1440p natively on PlayStation 4 Pro, with strong post-processing and cinematic effects. These might (also?) be the reason why the frame rate isn’t stable: instead of keeping a solid 60 FPS, the game usually runs around 40-50 frames per second. Thankfully, changing to 1080p, things clear up a bit: while there are still a few minor hiccups, sixty frames per second is possible.
Metal Gear Survive‘s open beta, which runs until January 21 allows us to play the cooperative part of the game (with four players maximum) on two maps (Wrecked Base, Deserted Mine) with three different missions. Participating in the beta will earn you the bandana, the FOXHOUND nameplate, and a Metal Gear Rex head in the full game.
Metal Gear Survive will launch on February 20/22 (NA/EU) on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
