MotoGP is not going to skip the 2018 season with its game adaptation.
Milestone tries to gain our trust (they deserve it – the last year’s career mode was glitchy, and we’d not like to discuss it further…), as they are finally ditching their in-house game engine, switching to Unreal Engine 4. The developers consider the new game a new beginning: MotoGP 18 will contain all three categories, as well as the Red Bull Rookies Cup. All riders, teams, bikes, and circuits (including the new Buriram one in Thailand) will be included. The press release promises „new cutscenes, the spectator mode and brand new interactive tutorials”; as well as a „new scalable damage system and tire management system.”
While it all sounds good on paper, we’d rather wait to check out the game ourselves – MotoGP will launch on June 7 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch port will follow „at a later date.”
