Or (and it could easily be the alternative title): the project, which was taken over from the closed Visceral Games that is meant to be mostly online would still offer the campaign that was expected to be the focus in the game altogether?
That sounds complicated, so let’s clear it up: after Electronic Arts closed the studio of the makers of Dead Space, they moved Amy Hennig’s (Uncharted!) project to EA Vancouver, whose March job listing for a lead online engineer mentioned „an open-world, AAA Star Wars game.” Is it clear so far?
They have another job listing, where they are looking for a senior online designer, who would „work with the Creative Director, Game Director, and Lead Writer to align all connected features with the single-player narrative and gameplay into a cohesive experience.” Single-player narrative and gameplay!
Of course, Electronic Arts wouldn’t be Electronic Arts if the job listing wouldn’t mention „live services,” as well as „in-game economy.” So, there will be monetization in this game, which is unlikely to get announced this year. Maybe in 2019…
