Starbreeze Loses The Walking Dead License!

The Swedish company is getting more and more problems.

Starbreeze announced on its website that Skybound Games (The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s company) has terminated the licensing agreement with them, which means they can no longer officially work on Overkill’s The Walking Dead (which recently dropped the ball in the indefinitely delayed PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, which are probably never going to release at this rate). The Walking Dead was pulled from Steam, too, although the DLC can still be purchased. Weird…

Starbreeze is now in discussions with Skybound „with the ambition to reach a solution,” which possibly means the console ports and the finishing of the second season of The Walking Dead. Starbreeze is in trouble: in its first two months, the PC version of the game barely garnered 3.7 million dollars, which was far below the expectations.

Skybound is now focusing on finishing Telltale’s The Walking Dead, which will see The End on March 26. They already started looking into more possibilities, which we wrote about before.
