Despite this dark episode, its leaders still want to work with actors.
Unfortunately, Judgment‘s launch in Japan suffered a misstep after Pierre Taki, the actor who plays Kyohei Hamura in the game, was arrested for possession of cocaine. Since this subject is penalized with much hardness there, SEGA said that the game would be launched with modifications in the modelling and voices of the character. Now, we know what measures have been taken exactly to combat the bad image of the subject.
Toshihiro Nagoshi, the father of the Yakuza series and one of the most responsible of Judgment, explains to IGN Japan ( via Rebellion on Twitter ) that Kyohei Hamura now has a different modelling, all of his prerendered dialogues and cinematics have been recorded again and also Some textures and even PSN trophies related to this theme have been modified. No surprises, as you can see.
It is a less bitter experience, but that does not seem to bother Nagoshi too much: he is still interested in working with actors, something that makes sense if we consider the type of games he usually signs. Judgment comes to stores on June 25 for PS4, although it could also reach PC and other platforms.
