Elden Ring was announced more than a year ago and hasn’t been seen since. It was discussed in detail on Reddit.
The user has compiled the information from ResetEra, originally posted by Omnipotent, or Omni, who has discussed Elden Ring several times. The game features a dynamic open world with enemies changing positions and events happening in the world without player involvement. The world has its enemies roaming, plus it includes a dynamic weather system as well as a day and night cycle.
Elden Ring’s world’s pieces are fully interconnected, and we can explore them as we see fit. The developers wanted to create a meaningful and fully realised world that contains exciting experiences. However, the world isn’t a single map – there will be multiple lands with their unique qualities and characteristics. The Elden Ring in the game has some effect on the world in large ways, and its impact is felt in the open world. The gameplay will have the highest amount of gear and variety in any of FromSoftware’s games yet. We will have more options to approach situations, and underground exploration will play a key role, too. The enemies’ AI will be enhanced to reflect the game’s more in-depth gameplay systems and open world. They can perform more elaborate techniques in battle and co-ordinate tactics.
The enhanced lighting system will add to the immersion (it can be felt if you enter a zone on a rainy day and exit in the night). There will be wildlife, PvP and additional online functionality (Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director, has previously stated there will be other interesting activities in the world beside combat). The world will be populated with different races, with more than just humanoids. Elden Ring has been described as a High Fantasy, dark open-world game, with grandiose fantasy locations. George R. R. Martin‘s work on the game can be felt with an „encyclopedic” amount of history and lore to the game, with a world with already functioning kingdoms and figures.
When the Elden Ring shatters, that becomes the impetus of the game. Its destruction affects the world, as well as the player. The destruction of the ring means the barrier that kept out the creatures and „unimaginable” things have been broken, so they are making their way into the world. The player character is human, their narrative is more personal than previous FromSoftware games. You will interact with organisations throughout its world – their motivations and ideologies will be reflected in their questlines and narratives.

Nothing is official yet. Elden Ring will likely not launch this year. It’s also possibly ditched the PlayStation 4/Xbox One duo for the PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X pair. We might hear about it this month during Bandai Namco Play Anime Live.
