Keanu Reeves applauds the creator of the Cyberpunk 2077 mod where players could have sex with him
Cyberpunk 2077 initially got off to a rocky start due to its many bugs, some players took the opportunity to apply various mods to CD Projekt Red’s title. One of the most famous was the one about sleeping with Jonny Silverhand. So far there is nothing wrong, except that this character is played by the famous actor: Keanu Reeves.
Yes, this mod allowed us to spend the night with the actor, something that ended up being adored by many. However, the mod had been removed at the request of the Polish studio, judging that it might have offended the actor by lending his face to the character.
During the interview, mainly aimed at talking about the release of The Matrix Awakens, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss spoke to The Verge about a variety of topics, and, in the end, the discussion turned to Cyberpunk 2077, especially the sexual modifications involving Johnny Silverhand’s character.
The actor explains that he has not yet played the final version of the game, though he has seen demos, and Alex Health, the reporter, asks him if he knew that the sex mod with Johnny was the most sought after by players. “Yes! Oh my god, it’s always nice, when it’s nice, and… y’know.,” Reeves replies with amusement. The Trinity actress received the news with much less enthusiasm, though she couldn’t help but smile. “I, however, say no, thank you. No, thank you! But well, Keanu’s fine with it.” The conversation could have ended there, but Keanu then got candid about the presence of sex in virtual reality games in a long and amusing chat:
“Think of all the money in porn, eh. You don’t even have to be there, and people could have digital sex with your digital avatar – what’s it called now, subscribed members only? You could have a costume that’s probably made in Sweden or Germany, oh my god, and then you have virtual reality. Then they could collect the data on you with your arousal measurements: You’re in the costume with the measures of excitement through your members-only Metaverse, so you take it all off, and you ask yourself how you feel about this relationship. Then you hold that real thing, and you’re like ‘oh man, I’m so glad we understood reality’.” – said Keanu Reeves
Anyway, you understand, the actor has gone off the rails a bit, but he has nothing against sex in video games as long as it’s done the right way. It remains to be seen whether the infamous mod will be re-licensed by CD Projekt when Cyberpunk 2077 is released in virtual reality. You can also read more about The Matrix Awakens here.
