Asobo Studio’s game will use several of the PC technologies.
Focus Entertainment has already announced a promising game for the fall, as it will be the publisher of A Plague Tale: Requiem. As the first part (A Plague Tale: Innocence) was an outstanding success, the release date announced in the press release will be worth keeping an eye on, although it is still more than a quarter of a year away.
In the meantime, here are twelve minutes of gameplay, including combat, stealth, third-person shooting, crafting and creating distractions. The deep vision, seen in Assassin’s Creed games, also makes an appearance. It allows you to see certain enemies beyond the wall, so you can be prepared for what they’re carrying. Hugo also makes a brief appearance in the video; towards the end, he orders a herd of rats to feast on the guards.
As for the PC innovations, Asobo and Focus have announced that the game will be boosted by Nvidia technology. The ray tracing and native DLSS will result in smoother, more spectacular visuals. DLSS is an AI-enhanced solution that boosts performance (up to three times better) without sacrificing visual quality, and more than 180 games already use the company’s solution.
In December, we wrote about the game: “Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment are thrilled to reveal A Plague Tale: Requiem, the sequel to critically acclaimed and award-winning A Plague Tale: Innocence. Witness the first glimpses of Amicia and Hugo’s epic adventure in a brutal, breathtaking world twisted by supernatural forces. After escaping their devastated homeland, Amicia and Hugo journey far south to new regions and vibrant cities. Discover the cost of saving those you love in a desperate struggle for survival. Strike from the shadows or unleash hell, overcoming foes and challenges with various crafted tools and supernatural powers.”
A Plague Tale: Requiem will launch on October 18 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam), but will also be available to play on Nintendo Switch, albeit from the cloud. It’ll be on (Xbox) Game Pass from day 1.
