After unveiling the gameplay of Blade last week, developer Firaxis Games released another teaser trailer for the upcoming strategy game Marvel’s Midnight Suns, in which Nico Minoru can be seen in action against a group of enemies.
Nico Minoru’s introductory trailer gives a brief look at his abilities stemming from the Staff of One, a deadly weapon that allows him to unleash the power within. This also allows Nico to express his magical powers in countless ways.
As seen in the trailer, Nico Minoru will likely have versatile abilities based on magic and spells that deal damage to each enemy in an area. Even though Firaxis hasn’t revealed much about Nico Minoru’s abilities, it can be assumed that unlike Blade and The Hunter games, he will be most effective against large groups of enemies.
An obscure character from Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Nico Minoru will likely offer unique gameplay thanks to his Staff of One weapon, which contains chaotic magic, making him unpredictable for his enemies. Nico can fly and control his powers once his signature weapon is charged with energy. Also, the fact that Nico Minoru excels in dark magic suggests that his abilities will include healing effects for teammates.
As for his background, Nico Minoru has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since his debut in 2003’s Runaways. A daughter of dark wizards who uses the Wand of One to bend magic. He used to conjure up magical energy with the help of his parents, who were members of the evil organization The Pride. After running away from his parents, Nico built a new life for himself, learning how to control his powers so they wouldn’t harm an ally.
Among other news of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the creators have already released a gameplay trailer for each of the heroines, such as the Huntsman, Magik, Blade and Captain America. The list of playable characters also includes the fan-favorite Spider-Man and Wolverine.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns launches on December 2nd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
